I'm Ken Blackburn. I was born in Oxnard California on March 24,
1963. My family moved around the country for a few years as my dad's
work for Western Electric moved. When I was about 4 years old we
settled in Kernersville, North Carolina on a 56 acre farm with horses,
cows, chickens, ... I attended North Carolina State University from 1981
to 1985 when I graduated second in my class with a BS in Aeronautical Engineering.
I accepted a job with McDonnell Douglas in St. Louis, Missouri working
in fighter aircraft fuel system research. Two years later I switched
to the aerodynamics department, where I have since worked on the YF-23,
F/A-18, AV-8B, T-45, and research in the Phantom Works (the company has
merged with Boeing, so now I am a Boeing employee).
