I'm Ken Blackburn. I hold the current Guinness record for
time aloft for paper airplanes. This web page is to share a little
background and personal information not directly paper airplane related.
I currently live with my wife in Navarre, Florida and work for the Jacobs
Company working as an aeronautical engineer doing research with the Air Force
at Eglin Air Force Base. I am married with no children, but do have two dogs, two
horses, and a Canary..
I was born in Oxnard California on March 24, 1963. My family moved around the country for a few years as my dad's work for Western Electric moved. When I was about 4 years old we settled in Kernersville, North Carolina on a 56 acre farm with horses, cows, chickens, ... I attended North Carolina State University from 1981 to 1985 when I graduated second in my class with a BS in Aeronautical Engineering. I accepted a job with McDonnell Douglas in St. Louis, Missouri working in fighter aircraft fuel system research. Two years later I switched to the aerodynamics department, where I have since worked on the YF-23, F/A-18, AV-8B, T-45, and research in the Phantom Works. The company merged with Boeing in 1997, so along the way I became a Boeing employee. In 2004 I left my job at Boeing to work for Jacobs Engineering (Sverdrup division) at Eglin Air Force Base performing research on small unmanned air vehicles. Other Hobbies:
