This is the lower falls of the Yellowstone River - it is 308 feet high (twice the height of Niagra). The Upper and Lower falls begin a 20 mile stretch of the Yellowstone river known as the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone, with tall, shear, colorful cliffs.
Lower falls. This was taken from the end of Uncle Tom's Trail. Uncle Tom would take tourists to this spot at the turn of the century(Y1.9K).
Upper falls. Not as tall as the lower falls, but spectacular none the less.
An unexpectedly good view from Wyoming Hwy 296 out of Yellowstone. This whole highway had great views. I think this pass at 8000 feet was called Dead Indian Pass.
