THE RECORD
Guiness World record for time aloft
Time aloft paper airplane Guinness record by Ken Blackburn at the Georgia Dome. 27.6 seconds on October 8th, 1998.
KEN IN SLO-MO
Ken demonstrates the perfect bio-mechanics for his world record throw. Note how he leads with his left arm to help his rotational speed. He also springs upward to add velocity. The acceleration is smooth throughout, causing minimum warping to the airplane. Amazing!
THE RECORD PLANE
I messed up a bit but this is the paper airplane Ken Blackburn used when he made the world record- it's 8 folds on the part I messed up on
KEN'S FOLDING TIPS
Get your fingers ready to fold and your arm ready to throw. On January 14, 2012, Guinness record holder Ken Blackburn will officiate The Paper Airplane Fly-Off at Pima Air & Space Museum!
